Canterbury Archers

Becoming a Member

​

We welcome all Archery GB registered archers shooting either Recurve, Longbow and Compound disciplines.

​

You must have completed a recognised beginners course before you can join the club. We run beginners courses twice a year, if you are interested in taking up archery please see the Beginner's Course page. Before becoming a member you must be a member of Archery GB. This can be arranged through the club.

The minimum age for juniors that we can accept is 10 years old and in order to comply with the Child Protection Guidelines all juniors, under 18, must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

 

Associate Members are also welcome but they will be admitted at the discretion of the Committee. â€‹An Associate Member is an archer who is a member of another club which is deemed to be their 'Home Club'. Archery GB fees are paid to this club. 

When do we shoot

Summer Programme (April - October)

Saturday and Sunday: 10.00-14.00. Optional shooting from 14:00 onwards if booked in advance.

Friday Evening: 16:30 - dusk

Winter Programme (November - March)

Saturday and Sunday : 10:00 – 13:00. Optional shooting from 13:00 onwards if booked in advance.

Wednesday: 18:30 - 21:00 (Indoor Shooting)

Indoor shooting takes place in the Archbishop's sports hall. 

Membership Fees

Club and AGB Fees

Membership fees are collected in two parts. The Annual Subscription to the club is due by the 1st April. Family membership is subject to a 10% discount. For new members the fee is applicable from the date of joining the club.

Membership fees

Adults archers: aged 25 and over

Young adult archers: aged 18 - 24

Junior archers: aged 10 - 17

The second part is the affiliation fee payable to Archery GB. Linked with this is a fee payable to the County and a fee payable to the Region (SCAS). These are collected from members by the club once a year.

Current AGB Fees:

  • Renewing Member - £56.00

  • New Member - £59.00

  • Renewing junior/young adult (to 24yrs old) - £17.00

  • New junior/young adult (to 24yrs old) - £21.00

  • Renewing Member (under 25/Disabled) - £13.00

  • New Member (under 25/Disabled) - £17.00

​​​Shooting Fees​

​

Shooting fees are paid each time you shoot at the club. On club days where food is provided such as BBQ's or Soup Days the shooting fees will be £2 for Seniors and £1.50 for Juniors. Visitors to the club are charged at twice the relevant shooting fee below for a maximum of three visits in one calendar year.
