January 2022 Covid Update

Dear Members We hope that you all managed to enjoy a safe and happy Christmas and new year. Unfortunately, as we enter 2022, Covid-19 infection numbers are rising rapidly and some members have reported close contact with the virus. While we are still allowed to stay open, it is more important than ever that we all adhere to our club’s Covid safe protocols which are based on current guidance from Archery GB and the government. We want to keep all our members as safe as possible so we can all continue to enjoy archery. Archery GB’s most recent guidance (December 2021) states that: All members, except if medically exempt or under the age of 11, should wear a face covering in indoor places, which are crowded and enclosed, and where they may come into contact with people they do not normally meet. Face coverings can be removed by archers when actively shooting (replaced when collecting arrows or waiting off the shooting line). Clean or sanitise hands and shared equipment regularly. Clubs must consider ventilation for indoor venues – let fresh air in. Anyone with Covid symptoms should not attend, get tested and self-isolate if required to do so. Additionally, in common with other schools, please remember that Archbishop’s has a ‘masks indoors’ policy. Members shooting indoors must ensure Gym windows are open during shooting sessions. With these points in mind, please wear a face covering when entering Archbishop’s School, either for shooting or using the toilet facilities, and use hand sanitiser frequently when coming into contact with any shared surfaces at the club. Please respect others’ space by maintaining social distancing. We would also encourage members to take lateral flow tests before attending the club. Club members MUST NOT come to the range/club if they show symptoms of any illness but in particular of Covid-19.

If you have any of the main symptoms of Covid-19, even if they're mild, take a test as soon as possible.

  • Please do not come to the club.

  • Please notify a committee member if you develop Covid-19 symptoms after attending the club.
