Club Update for Members

Dear All, We hope you are keeping well and enjoying the summer that finally seems to have arrived! Things have been very positive at the club with several taster sessions, our first beginners’ course, a make and mend day and club BBQ all having successfully taken place. We are also very pleased to say that the kitchen area/drink making facilities are now back up and running. You will now need to bring you own mug, and take it away to wash, but tea/coffee/milk/sugar are available as in pre-Covid days and the ‘20p’ money pot for this is back on the signing in table. Please use the hand sanitiser before and after touching all ‘shared’ surfaces or equipment, and respect other people’s personal space when in the area. There is a lot of building and maintenance work going on at the school so we have been asked not to park on the hard standing area up near the club house which could obstruct the movement of lorries and other machinery. However, while the ground is dry we can park on the grass alongside the ‘rustic’ wooden fence. If the weather turns wet again we will need to use the car parks and this will also be necessary for everyone from October when that grassed area is due to be dug up and replaced with another surface. The club championships will take place on Sunday 19th September and more information regarding these will be coming from Sheila and Glyn in due course. There will also be a social/BBQ after shooting on this day, so please make a note in your diaries. Glyn is getting an order for club shirts together. They cost £29. If you would like one of these, please contact Glyn or our club secretary to request an order form. If you are still feeling a bit nervous about making your first visit back to the club, please do just drop in and have a chat with some ‘old’ and new faces. We know from our own experience that the first time is the hardest but once you have done it and seen the safe set up in place we’re sure you will be keen to get your bow out of storage and back into the fresh air. While the school is on holiday, we are still able to shoot in the week as well as weekends so do check the online calendar to see when people will be at the club or put in a request for a time that suits you best …and maybe even try a few arrows once there. Continued best wishes to you all. Kind regards, Karen, and the committee
