Remembering members who are sadly no longer with us

Fred Noone

Fred Noone

Fred was one of the clubs oldest members and he proved that you are never too old to do archery! The Fred Noone Birthday Shoot was set up to celebrate his 90th Birthday. He sadly passed away in 2017 and the birthday shoot was renamed the Fred Noone Memorial Shoot which takes place every year in his memory. Fred was awarded the Legion d'honneur in 2016 for his actions during the war on D-Day. He is missed by all of us at Canterbury Archers.

Jason Sargeant

Jason Sargeant

Jason was a talented archer who went on from his beginners’ course to take the Kent Compound Gents and team
champion titles and represent
Kent at county and national level competitions. Jason gave freely of his time and skills, serving on the committee as our equipment officer. He was very enthusiastic about
supporting and encouraging the development of club members. Jason sadly passed away in 2022. His presence
will be greatly missed by all who were lucky enough to know him.
